Juicing Recipe – Common Cold

So we’ve all gotten a common cold before right? Unfortunately, most of us have.

A cold is a viral infection of the airways. It’s a good idea to supplement your diet with these suggestions during the cold season as a preventative measure.  Support your body and strengthen your immune with good nutrition.

But if you’ve already got it…I’ve got 3 words for you…Garlic, Garlic, Garlic!!!

When I feel a cold coming on, I immediately reach for the fresh garlic or high quality garlic tabs. I like Dr. Zhang’s Allicin and always keep it on hand.

A wise doctor once told me to get garlic cloves and eat them when sick. Blend them in an olive tapendade, or juice them (dont juice too many, just one, but if eating whole thats okay).

With all the antibacterial properties in fresh garlic, there is no way a cold or virus could survive in your body.

If you make your body a place that is unfriendly to the virus, it will leave.

Add a clove to vegetable juice or eat one with your regular meals to avoid the strong taste! I don’t recommend adding it to a citrus based juice. Try adding it to a green or any vegetable based juice.

Get rest, drink lots of water, up your immune with vitamin C (in juice or supplemental form) and zinc, and you’ll be on your way to being yourself again.

How To Juice

  • 1.Juicers often have program settings based on the produce density. If not, it’s still best to run the softest produce through the motor first, working your way up to the hardest. After switching on the motor, start by juicing the softest fruits and vegetables (like citrus and cucumbers), then turn up the speed (if the machine has this function) and work your way through to the hardest fruits and vegetables (like beets and carrots).
